The Kingdom of God is an important biblical theme. It is God’s rule and kingship over people’s hearts and over nations and tribes throughout all history. It includes God’s redemptive work at the cross to defeat his enemies and save his chosen ones.

When Jesus began his ministry, he announced that he was inaugurating the Kingdom. He preached that people should repent and put their faith in God. The book of Revelation tells us that there will be people from every tribe, language, nation and race worshipping at Christ’s throne in heaven (Revelation 5:9-13). God is King over all.

Prayer

Jesus Christ, you are the King of kings and Lord of lords. You are “the ruler of the kings of the earth” (Revelation 1:5). I come to worship you, and I intercede for Muslims.

The universe is your Kingdom; history is your realm. All the kingdoms of the world are under you. Yet, Muslims have claimed one of those kingdoms for themselves; they call it the “House of Islam.” It includes all Muslims on the planet. The Bible is forbidden in the “House of Islam,” and the work of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives is illegal!

However, can laws actually stop the Holy Spirit? No! National borders cannot stop you, Majestic Ruler of the universe. No religion, tradition, or system can bar you from entering people’s hearts and cleansing their consciences.

May your Kingdom come in Muslims’ lives, homes and communities! Help them, Lord Christ, to set their heart on you, the way and the truth and the life.

I pray that many Muslins, even this week, will acknowledge you as the King of glory, the Mighty in battle, the One who redeems, who grants new life, and who resurrects those who are dead! Supply their need for forgiveness, salvation, life, freedom, joy, love, faith, hope, healing, purpose, provision and victory. In your precious name I pray. Amen.

Promise

All kings will bow before him, and all nations will serve him…. To the King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen (Psalm 72:11, NLT; 1 Timothy 1:17, NCV).
